Who is eligible to receive a Cash Assistance program prepaid card?

In Georgia, you are eligible to receive a Cash Assistance program prepaid card if you were enrolled and actively receiving Medicaid, PeachCare for KidsĀ®, SNAP, and/or TANF benefits on July 31, 2022.

When will I get the prepaid card?

If you choose to email or email and U.S. mail in Gateway, you will get the virtual prepaid card by email before October 11. The email will be from [email protected].

If you pick U.S. mail only, you will receive a physical prepaid card in the middle of October.

How do I apply?

  • Go to your local County Assistance Office and fill out an application there.
  • Download an application form from the internet (links provided below), fill it out, and return it to your local County Assistance Office:

What do I need to use the prepaid card?

To use your prepaid card, you will need your client ID (identification number given to you) and your date of birth. If there are multiple eligible people in your household, make sure you use the client ID and date of birth for the person to whom the email was sent to.

How can I find my client ID?

To find your client ID, you can go to your Gateway account. After logging in, you will see your client ID under ā€œMy Benefits Summaryā€ in the table for one-time cash assistance.

What if I need help opening the email that the prepaid card was sent to initially? If I update my email in Gateway, will the card come to the new email?

Yes, if you cannot open the email, you should go to Gateway and update your email address in the ā€œNotificationsā€ section. Once you have the correct email listed there, the card will be sent to the new email address.
