If you started to work out recently then you might have heard about post-workout snacks. After you work out your muscles get tired and they want something in order to recover quickly. This recovering process also helps in increasing the size of the muscles. Just after working out, you cannot eat a full meal because your body is not ready for it and its no way beneficial. You have to look for certain snacks that you should eat post-workout and here are a few things that we recommend you to eat after a workout which will enhance your results and help replenish the fuel that you have lost.

Peanut butter with banana slices

As you might or might not know bananas are very rich in potassium. Consumption of potassium post-workout will also help in the absorption of fluids in the muscles in a better way. You are busy drink water for this purpose but potassium gives you that edge. So, Banana is a really good post-workout snack. Along with banana slices we also recommend you to consume peanut butter which is very rich in protein which helps your tired muscles recover swiftly. This will give you the right amount of carbs as well.

You can make this snack in a very easy way. You need to slice a banana into small pieces and apply peanut butter on top of those slices before consuming them. You can even add other items like salt and sugar but keep them at a minimum because they can prove unhealthy for you as well.

Power smoothie

The smoothie which we have referred to as Power smoothie is very easy to make and most people consider it their favorite post-workout snack. this Power smoothie consists high amount of calcium and protein as it is made up of coconut milk. It also helps a great deal in muscle recovery and tastes amazing.

To make this you have to mix one-fourth cup of coconut milk into one-fourth cup of normal milk. After that, you can add some frozen blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, and other such foods for taste purposes. Other items as per your needing before blending it as smoothly as you want.

Bread with avocado

Avocados are rich in Omega-3 which are very healthy for reducing inflammation and pain in the muscles after a workout. They are not so much rich in proteins but they are very rich in vitamins and minerals and you can definitely consume this over your bread.

Apples with yogurt

Yogurt is very high in protein and you can mix this with slices of apple for this perfect post-workout snack which will help you a great deal in refueling the muscles and preventing injury. Many athletes consume this after a workout.

Veggies and hummus

Hummus is made out of chickpeas and is a great source of fiber and protein. You can get hummus and add any veggies like tomatoes, pepper, broccoli, carrots, or anything else inside them and consume it as a post-workout meal.
