The ANC900BT headphones have excellent active noise cancellation, effectively reducing engine sounds and other loud noises. However, when we tested the ANC in a quiet place, we noticed a slight feeling of pressure and a vacuum effect at the highest ANC settings, so we had to lower it a bit.

The balanced sound signature becomes slightly warmer with the ANC turned up to the maximum (“airplane” mode). This is because ANC in headphones sometimes affects sound quality, especially in the bass frequencies. However, Audio Technica Over-Ear Headphones has intentionally maintained good sound quality even with ANC.

Our tests found that the ANC900BT headphones maintained a clear separation of instruments and accurate stereo imaging across different volume levels.

Although wireless and portable, the ANC900BT headphones deliver powerful kick drums and basslines without overwhelming other frequencies. The mids are also clear and transparent and don’t cause discomfort or harshness.

If we talk about battery life, the ANC900BT can last more than 60 hours in wired mode with ANC active and more than 35 hours with both Bluetooth and ANC. Charging the battery fully takes about 5.5 hours using the Micro-USB cable.

These specifications allow you to enjoy your headphones on long trips without having tension about running out of battery.

Controlling playback on the ANC900BT is easy with the touch panel on the left ear cup. You can play/pause, adjust volume, and skip tracks directly from the headphones.

Unfortunately, these headphones have no customizable EQ, even though they are compatible with the Audio Technica Over-Ear Headphones app. The touch controls can also be inconsistent, so using your phone for playback controls is better.

Note: The Audio Technica Over-Ear Headphones app is useful for setting up your headphones, customizing EQ settings (available for certain models), and even locating lost headphones or earphones. This app can be downloaded on both Android and iOS devices.

ATH-WP900

Like other headphones in Audio Technica Over-Ear Headphone’s Air Dynamic (AD) series, the AD1000X provide a wide soundstage that brings music to life. However, they sound is low compared to the ATH-AD900X.

Nevertheless, the AD1000X offer improved detail and clarity compared to its predecessor. Even when compared to the more expensive ATH-AD2000X, both headphones are quite similar, especially in how they reproduce vocals and strings.

Note: The AD1000X headphones don't have strong bass. Suppose you're used to headphones with a V-shaped sound signature like the M50x. In that case, the bass is lacking and not as impactful, especially without additional equalizer adjustments. They also can't match the overall neutral and lifelike sound experience of the ADX5000 headphones.

ATH-BPHS2

The ATH-BPHS2 headphones are Audio Technica Over-Ear Headphone’s flagship model for broadcasting purposes. They come with a high-resolution boom microphone that delivers excellent sound quality.
