City Pass and Tips for Visiting New York Attractions

Most attractions in New York, such as The Rockefeller Centre will cost visitors around $20-30 per person for a ticket. The New York City Pass, which is available to buy at all major New York attractions, costs $80 and for that price includes a ticket to the Empire State, Statue of Liberty, the Guggenheim, MoMA, The Rockefelle Centre and many more major attractions. When visiting the major sights of New York the City Pass will save visitors a lot of money.

When visiting the many landmarks and attractions in New York there are often long lines and a lot of waiting around. It may be common sense but the trick is find out the opening times and get there early. The longest lines will be found at the Statue of Liberty and Empire State Building so for these sights the earlier the better. The City Pass also allows some minor queue jumping and express ticket lines at NY attractions so again worth buying.

New York Museums and Art Galleries

New York is full of famous and brilliant museums and art galleries, and most of the best can be found around the border of Central Park. The Met, the Guggenheim, the Natural History Museum, the International Centre of Photography and the Museum of the City of NY. There is also the Museum of Modern Art in Midtown and many others scattered around the island.

New York Central Park and Time Square

Central Park is one of the most beautiful and magnificent parks in the world and incorporates stunning views, fun attractions and a relaxing atmosphere. Inside the park there is a Zoo, Castle, Lake, statues, playing fields and performance areas. The park is stunning in both summer and winter and taking a horse and carriage tour around the park is a great way to see all the beautiful areas.

At the other extreme to this relaxing and tranquil park is Time Square, which is a sight like no other. The blinding lights, huge buildings and amazing shops make it one of the best areas in New York for shopping, sight seeing and dining. Time Square is definitely worth a visit during the day but also at night when the hundreds of lights make it feel like midday at midnight.

When to Visit New York City

New York is fun and entertaining any time of the year but for different times are better for different things. During the winter the city is stunning especially when snowing. Central park and the ice rink at the Rockefeller Centre are a must during the winter plus the shopping is excellent for Christmas presents.

However, for sheer sight seeing a little warm weather is good as there is lots of walking about between each sight and many of the attractions, such as the Statue of Liberty and Central Park are outside so going at the start of June will offer the perfect warm weather for walking about the city of New York.
