Camera review - Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III is YouTube-focused

The just launched Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III is considered as the most video-focused PowerShot yet from the stable of Canon. It will surely offer a good challenge to the likes of Sony and Panasonic. It comes with good build quality and great handling. The touchscreen is more responsive compared to predecessor and face detection is quite effective. The camera offers nice colors in images and comes with great effective image stabilization.

The Canon Powershot G7 X Mark III comes equipped with a 20.1 MP lens to capture images at up to 30fps. Thanks to its new Raw Burst shooting mode.

The camera comes with a newer DIGIC 8 processing engine, 1-inch sensor, 3.5mm mic input and 4K UHD recording. It is perfect for vloggers and livestreaming to YouTube.

It is equipped with couple of video-centric technologies like 24-100mm lens range in 35mm and aperture speed of up to f/1.8-2.8.

The new processor and sensor combination on the Canon Powershot G7 X Mark III now also allows some gains to burst shooting. In fact the 20fps is now even possible at full resolution. This means it is faster than the predecessor Mark II by 2x.

Apart from this, the new 30fps Raw Burst shooting mode will help in capturing images even at mroe speedily.

In terms of design the camera comes with sculpted grip with rubber lining as well as four physical dials. It provides more secure hold.

However, if talked about the cons side of the camera, it lacks built-in viewfinder as well as hotshoe for external mics. The AF system seems a bit dated and sometimes overexposure occurs.
