Apple TV+ made a cool show called Severance. It’s about a company called Lumon that puts a small thing in their workers’ brains. This thing makes them forget work stuff when they’re not working.
People loved it, so they’re making a second season. The first season had actors like Adam Scott, Zach Cherry, and Patricia Arquette in it.
Severance Season 2: What to expect
In the first season of Severance, something really crazy happened at the end. Mark, Helly, and Irving suddenly woke up in the real world. And guess what? Helly found out she’s the CEO’s daughter, and Mark found out his wife, who was thought to be dead, is actually alive.

In a 2023 interview with Adam Scott, who plays Mark, he gave a few hints about what might happen in the new season. He talked about what could happen to his character and what fans can expect from Helly, played by Britt Lower.

“It’s a confusing cocktail of feelings, because Mark is having these feelings for Helly, having never had feelings for a person before, and certainly didn’t even consider it for the first while they were together. First of all, it’s frowned upon down there, but also, it just didn’t occur to him,” Scott said.

We don’t know when the new season will come out yet. But we might learn more about it by the end of 2023.

Here’s what the show Severance is about, according to Apple TV+:
“Mark Scout leads a team at Lumon Industries, whose employees have undergone a severance procedure, which surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. At the end of Apple’s iPhone 14 event, they showed a little surprise. It was like the extra part you see in Marvel movies after the main story ends. In this surprise, we saw a short scene from the second season of Severance.
It wasn’t much, but it showed Britt Lower as Helly at a train station, and she appeared and disappeared on the screen before it went black.
But now, it’s been more than a year, and Apple hasn’t said anything new about the show, even though WWDC 2023 and the iPhone 15 launch have happened.
What is the Severance Season 2 release date
Season 2 of Severance is happening! Even before the first season ended, Apple decided to make more episodes because the show was a hit. The creator, Ben Stiller, always planned for the show to have many seasons.
But if you’re hoping to find out what happens next in the story soon, you might have to wait a while. It took a long time for the first season to go from being just a script to a TV show. Stiller mentioned that it’s been in the works for over five years.
Plus, there’s a Hollywood writer’s strike in 2023 that has slowed down the making of scripts. This could also make the show take longer to come out.
When will the Severance Season 2 be available on Apple TV+?
Based on what we know about how long it took to film the first season and the progress of writing for season 2 (as of July 2022), it’s unlikely that season 2 will come out before late 2023, and it’s more probable that it will be released in 2024. However, no official date has been announced yet.
But there’s a problem – a strike by the Writers Guild of America has slowed down TV and movie production in Hollywood, including Severance season 2. So now, it might not be released until sometime between January and March of 2024. We hope it comes out sooner, though.
