Harbor Town Hilton Head Golf and Recreation

Harbor Town, located in Sea Pines, is a popular area for golf, dining, shopping, water sports, entertainment and family fun. Great views of the Calibogue Sound greet visitors as they stroll under the giant live oaks or just relax and rock in a Lowcountry rocker.

The Harbor Town lighthouse has been guarding the Harbor since 1970. Families, couples, or singles can find activities at Harbor Town to complement any Hilton Head vacation.

Visitors can enjoy a leisurely lunch at one of the excellent local restaurants, taking advantage of the outdoor tables to enjoy the views and the weather. For dinner menus may include such southern favorites as hushpuppies and fried oysters. Those lucky enough to grab a table with a view will enjoy spectacular sunsets.

After dinner visitors relax by the Harbor while listening to beach music, enjoy an ice cream cone, or watch children participating in a sing along under the big live oak tree.

There is a $5 charge per car to enter Sea Pines and the guard at the gate can supply maps and lists of businesses. Some Harbor Town activities are seasonal so visitors should check for specific entertainment schedules and dining operations before planning a visit. Parking is limited and free shuttles run during busy seasons from convenient parking area.

Harbor Town is Site of Heritage Classic Golf Tournament

Each spring the PGA Heritage Classic Golf Tournament is played on the Harbor Town Links Golf Course. The event traditionally follows the Masters in April.

Visitors to the tournament have the opportunity to follow the professional golfers during the week. They are also treated to scenes unique to the Harbortown Links. As the golfers and the gallery approach the lighthouse and the 18th green, they are greeted by groups of fans watching from boats moored in the Calibogue Sound.

Harbor Town Sea Pines Entertainment

Sea Pines and Harbor Town provide activities suitable for families vacationing on Hilton Head with children, groups of golfers, or those in quest of a quiet getaway.

Another symbol of Harbor Town is the giant Liberty Oak where over three million children have gathered during the past 25 years to sing along with Gregg Russell. Children sit on the wooden stage where some of their parents sat and enjoy the music of Russell as they sing along.to his humorous lyrics.

More adult live musical entertainment is available on a seasonal basis at some Harbor Town restaurants or on their outside decks.

Sea Pines Harbor Town Water Activities

Some guests arrive by yacht allowing visitors an opportunity to stroll by and see the occupants relaxing or the crews working. The harbor activity during Heritage Classic week is especially robust as golf enthusiasts arrive for tournament week via their yachts.

Fishing charters leave from the Sound and crabbing and other water sports are enjoyed by Harbor town visitors.
