Electric-type Pokemon resistances and weaknesses - Tech Preview

Electric-type Pokémon are known for being super fast and hitting really hard, so they can be tough to deal with. That is why we are going to talk about what Electric-type Pokémon are not good against and what they are strong against so trainers can be ready for them.

Electric-type Pokémon are some of the most dangerous Pokémon you can battle because their electric moves are strong, and they move quickly, which means they can defeat your team fast. So, it is important to get ready before you face them, especially when it is a rare Electric Legendary Pokémon.

However, like any type of Pokémon, Electric-types also have things they are not good against, and you can use those weaknesses to your advantage.

Now that we have Pokémon Scarlet and Violet let us learn how to survive when you face an Electric-type Pokémon and how to win the battle.

What are the things that Electric-type Pokemon are not good at dealing with?

Electric-type Pokemon are not good at fighting against Ground-type Pokemon.

Ground-types:

So, if you want to beat an Electric-type Pokemon, you should have some Ground-type Pokemon on your team and give them moves that work well against Electric types.

Best Electric-type Pokemon counters

The best way to beat Electric-type Pokemon is to use Ground-type Pokemon like Sandlash, Dugtrio, and Mudsdale. These Ground-types can take Electric moves without getting hurt much, so your opponent has to use other kinds of attacks to win.

However, remember, you should also think about the other types of Pokemon when you choose your counter Pokemon and moves. Even though these Ground-types are good against Electric, the opponent’s Pokemon might resist them because of their own types.

Electric-type Pokemon strengths & and resistances

Electric-type Pokemon are not just weak in some things, and they also do not get hurt much by certain types and moves. Electric-type Pokemon can resist these types:

  • Flying
  • Steel
  • Other Electric-types

When you are using another Electric-type Pokemon in a battle, it is a good idea to have it be a dual-type, like Gen 9’s Pawmot. That way, it can handle different situations better.

What is an Electric-type Pokemon

Electric-type Pokémon are usually easy to spot because they look like lightning bolts or other things related to electricity. They often have colours like yellow, black, white, and blue in their appearance.

For example, Raichu, Pikachu, and Zapdos look like lightning, and Magnemite looks like a magnet. These are signs that you are facing an Electric-type Pokemon.

Some of these Electric-type Pokemon have two types, so when you want to beat them, your Pokemon should be strong against both types, not just Electric. However, some Electric-types are pure Electric, and they can be really strong if used well.

That is all you need to know about how to defeat Electric-type Pokemon in the series.

Some Questions

What can beat Electric-type Pokemon

Electric-type Pokemon are really good at defending themselves, but they have one weakness: Ground-type moves. So, if you want to win against an Electric-type Pokemon, you should use a strong Ground-type Pokemon like Rhyperior, Groudon, or Garchomp.

Why is Electric weak to Ground

Pure Electric-type Pokemon only have one weakness in Scarlet and Violet, and that is Ground-type. Ground moves hurt Electric types a lot, but they do not take extra damage from any other type of attack.

Is Grass weak to Electric

For example, when you look at Grass-type Pokemon like Tangela, they are not good at defending against Flying, Poison, Bug, Fire, or Ice attacks, but they can defend well against Ground, Water, Grass, and Electric attacks.

Is Electric weak to Rock

Even though not all the Pokemon in that gym were Rock-type, they were all Ground-type. Electric is not weak to Rock, and Rock is not completely protected from Electric.

Is Electric weak to Ground or Rock

Electric-type Pokemon can defeat Rock-type Pokemon in the anime series because Rock is not immune to Electric. Ground is the type that is immune to Electric, not Rock.
