How was 2016 for you? For Apple it was surely a tough one. It had legal battle with the FBI for denial to help the agency in unlocking iPhone found from San Bernardino shooter Syed Farook. The argue was valid as it would open a back door and risk other iPhone users of privacy breaches.
The financial year too was disappointing for the iPhone maker. The annual sales graph saw a southward move, and this was for the first time since 2001, the year when Apple released its one of the most successful products iPod.
The 2016 saw a refreshed version of iPhone and MacBook Pro, but global reviews were mixed for both the devices.
What’s next for the mobile and tablet giant for 2017?
Apple recently published its artificial intelligence (AI) project research paper, which talks about improving the ability of computer to recognize images, which is of course a difficult task for machines.
The paper is called “Learning from Simulated and Unsupervised Images through Adversarial Training.” It suggests modifying certain AI algorithms to improve recognizing images feature.
Meanwhile, about tech enthusiasts Carbon Black Chief Executive Officer Patrick Morley says the 2017 will see more cyber attacks, more attacks on endpoints, more attacks on connected devices and more ransomware attacks.
Ransomware is the fastest-growing malware and 2016 saw fifty percent rise compared to last year. It has the nature to hold computer files for ransom.
