These cheese wonton appetizers are great for parties and the mixtures and dipping sauces can be made ahead of time and stored in the refridgerator until the wontons are ready to be fried. These recipes do not have to be exact, and can be changed easily, depending on the taste to be desired. Don’t be afraid to play around with different ingredients in order to create new tasty recipes the whole family can enjoy!

*Each wonton recipe calls for about 16 wontons a piece. If all three are made at the same time, one package of wontons is all that is needed, unless recipes are to be doubled.*

Crab Cheese Wontons Recipe:

1-8 oz package of cream cheese, softened
2 green onions, finely chopped (or 1/4 cup red onions, finely chopped)
1/4 cup crab meat, finely chopped
1 tsp minced garlic
1/4 cup pineapple tidbits, drained and finely chopped
About 16 wonton wrappers
oil for frying

Mushroom Wontons Recipe:

1-8oz package of cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup fresh mushrooms, finely chopped
2 green onions, finely chopped (or 1/4 cup red onions, finely chopped)
1 tsp minced garlic
pinch of salt
pinch of pepper
About 16 wonton wrappers

Shrimp and Cucumber Wontons Recipe:

1-8oz package of cream cheese, softened
1 tsp fresh minced ginger
1 tsp minced garlic
1/2 cucumber, peeled and finely chopped
1/4 cup salad size shrimp, finely chopped
About 16 wonton wrappers

Wonton Preparation:

Mix all ingredients together until well blended
Place about heaping teaspoon or more of the mixture in the middle of the wonton wrapper
Dip finger tip in water and brush around the edges of the wrapper
Fold wrapper over to make a triange shape; press edges together so air does not get in during frying
Fry in oil until golden brown
Remove from oil to paper towel to drain and cool

Coconut and Wasabi Dipping Sauce Recipe and Preparation:

3 Tbsp wasabi powder
2 Tbsp unsweetened coconut milk
1 tsp finely squeezed lime juice
3 Tbsp mayonnaise
1 tsp sugar
lime zest to taste
1 tsp curry powder, if desired

Whisk all ingredients together in a bowl and store in the fridge until ready to serve.

Recipe may need to be doubled depending on the number of wontons being made.

Tangy Wonton Dipping Sauce Recipe and Preparation:

1-1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup water
1 tsp tomato paste
1 Tbsp melted butter
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Whisk all ingredients together in a bowl and store in the fridge until ready to serve.

Garlic Dipping Sauce Recipe and Preparation:

3 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp sesame oil
About 2 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic
1 Tbsp fine sugar

In a bowl, combine all ingredients. Whisk until sugar completely dissolves. Cover and store in fridge before serving.
