This September 3 the amateur singers of Pittsburgh will get golden opportunity to show their talents. American Idol audition will be held in Bakery Square, 6425 Penn Ave. between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Below are some of the basic tips before you go for an audition and be hopeful to become the next American Idol:

By June 11 you need to be in the age group of 15 and 28 years and must be legal United States resident with no contractual obligations to prevent you from entering into recording and merchandising contracts after winning the American Idol.

The things required before entering for audition is a valid ID to prove your age and a photograph of yours. Before auditioning you will be asked to sign a release. It is also suggested to register online as this will save time on the audition day.

You are only allowed to bring one person with you and if you are below 18 years of age your parent or a guardian should be present with you all the time.

You are not allowed to wear such clothing which bears copyright images, brand names or obscene messages. Your tattoos should also not have such things.

You cannot bring with you prohibited items like animals, backpacks, alcohol, air mattresses, coolers, fireworks, video cameras, tents, folding chairs, cans or bottles.

It is suggested to prepare at least three of your best songs as the producers may ask you to sing two songs.
